What's Included
Meeting and pickup
We’ll meet at Jacqueline de Romilly Square, just outside the entrance to the Ancient Agora of Athens. From there, we’ll walk through the park surrounded by olive trees and end our stroll at the tasting room.
What to expect
As you stroll through the area’s charming streets, surrounded by olive trees, you’ll be introduced to Greece’s deep-rooted olive oil culture, a tradition that has shaped its landscape, cuisine, and history for thousands of years.
Along the walk, you’ll learn about the life cycle of the olive tree, from pruning and blossoming to harvest, and discover fascinating insights into how these trees have become a timeless symbol of Greek heritage.
The walk concludes at the tasting room, where the olive oil journey continues. Guided by a certified Olive Oil Sommelier, guests will:
- Learn about the main stages of olive oil production
- Master the official olive oil tasting technique
- Understand the difference between extra virgin and virgin olive oil
- Discover how to store olive oil properly at home
- Taste three distinct extra virgin olive oils, each representing a different variety and region of Greece
