On this tour you will learn about the fascinating world of Colombian emeralds, as they are renowned for their quality, value and beauty, and also how they have influenced the trade of the city center. You will also live the experience from its extraction with a representation of a real mine in the international emerald museum to its commercialization. You’ll have an income to a unique demonstration on the carving of these gemstones, how to recognize them and how they are sold for jewelry.

The Avianca Building is located at Calle 16 y Carrera Séptima, on the north side of Santander Park, in this same park is the Gold Museum.

They will enter the world of emerald mines, learn how they are mined, how to recognize them, the types of emeralds that exist in the world and in Colombia.

There you will see how the emeralds are marketed, you will see how they reach from the mine to the market in the city center and the characteristics that make possible the trade of these precious stones.

Afterwards we will enter an office to demonstrate how the carving of emeralds is done, you will be able to know in person the tools and techniques for the transformation of the raw losers, explained by an artisan of the guild.
