From Reykjavik: Your pickup vehicle will display an “IceTrek Tour Operator” sign in the front windshield for easy identification. Please be ready at your selected pickup location a few minutes before the scheduled departure time.
What to expect
Join us in Reykjavik on a 5-day trekking adventure along Iceland’s spectacular Laugavegur Trail, hiking hut to hut through the remote and colorful landscapes of the Highlands. This journey ends with time to explore the beautiful valley of Þórsmörk, Iceland’s most beloved hiking area.
Led by experienced local guides and designed for small groups, this trek offers an authentic highland experience guided by people who know the land best.
From Landmannalaugar, we hike through vibrant rhyolite mountains, steaming geothermal areas, and rugged lava fields. The trail continues across black obsidian landscapes and colorful valleys before descending to the tranquil shores of Álftavatn.
Along the way we ford glacial rivers and cross wide volcanic deserts with stunning views of the Mýrdalsjökull and Eyjafjallajökull glaciers. As we approach Þórsmörk, the landscape gradually turns greener with mossy ridges and birch forests.
Throughout the trek, luggage is transported between huts so you only carry a daypack, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the wild and ever-changing landscapes of Iceland’s Highlands.
