Today will be one of the most challenging days of the entire tour. Beginning at 5 am, road trip to La Florida Park, where we will photograph the endangered and enigmatic Bogota Rail, followed by a visit to another reserve at 8 am to photograph the Golden-bellied Starfrontlet. Both endemic birds, at 3 pm, we are continuing to Guasca, a small Town where we will rest.
Early in the morning, we will head to the mountains for a one-hour road trip to a reserve for photography, a place where we create wonderful sets to capture Sword-billed Hummingbird, white-bellied Woodstar, Tourmaline Sunangel, Glowing Puffleg, Great Sapphirewing, Blue-throated Starfrontlet (Endemic), Mountain Velvetbreast and Tyrian Metaltail in flight, perched and feeding on flowers. It is possible to capture photos of other birds, such as the White-capped Tanager and Masked Trogon. RETORNO to the hotel in the middle of the mountains.
We are going to visit another Reserve that has feeders of Hummingbirds like Gorgeted Woodstar (NE), Sword-billed Hummingbird, Longuemar’s Sunangel, Mountain Velvetbreast, as well as the endemic Muisca Antpitta. There are possibly other birds like the Brown-breasted Parakeet (E), Black-billed Toucan, Andean Poto, among others. RETORNO Bogotá.
Today is our last day of tour, and our attention is on photographing three hummingbirds like Coppery-bellied Puffleg (NE), Bronze-tailed Thornbill (E) and Purple Back Thornbill (Season: July and August). RETORNO Home.
