Caño Cristales river

Day 2 of your La Macarena adventure kicks off with a hearty breakfast before delving into the legendary Caño Cristales. Begin with a scenic boat ride along the Guayabero River, followed by a thrilling 4X4 journey to the entrance of Caño Cristales. Embark on an unforgettable trek, exploring iconic attractions like Los Hoyos, Los Pianos, and the Piscina del Turista. Dive into crystal-clear pools, capture photos of cascading waterfalls, and marvel at the unique natural landscapes. Enjoy a delicious lunch amidst the beauty of Caño Cristales before returning to La Macarena, where you can unwind and reflect on your Amazon rainforest adventure.

Day 3
Losada and Guayabero River

After an early morning breakfast, your guide will be waiting for you to embark on an unforgettable adventure. Together, you'll journey towards the Inderena port, where a boat awaits to transport you on a 30-minute ride along the Guayabero River to the mouth of the Losada River. During this scenic boat ride, lasting approximately half an hour, keep your eyes peeled for the majestic pink dolphins, also known as freshwater dolphins, that inhabit these waters. As you glide along the river, you'll be surrounded by the rich biodiversity of the Macarena mountain range, with opportunities to spot various bird species, turtles, crocodiles, and other fascinating wildlife. Before noon, you'll return to La Macarena, where your journey concludes. Here, you'll bid farewell to the breathtaking landscapes and vibrant wildlife of the region as you catch your flight back to the bustling city of Bogotá.

• Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
• The season where the plants that give Caño Cristales its color only grow from June to November, which is the rain season. We don't recommend traveling to Caño Cristales before June or after November because you probably won't enjoy the scenery
• In Caño Cristales and Caño Cristalitos, it is forbidden to use sunscreen and mosquito repellent but you can use them for the rest of the trip.
• The tours are run on small groups of 8 participants max. You will be assigned to a group that has the same hiking level as you. The program on day 1 and 3 will be adapted according to your level. On day 2 (Caño Cristales), there are several routes in the reserve that vary in length. You will be assigned to a route according to your hiking level.
