First stop of the day is the iconic Seljalandsfoss. A jaw dropping majestic sight with the possibility to walk behind the waterfall! After enjoying Seljalandsfoss we take a short hike to its neighbour Gljúfrarbúi (The one who lives in the mountain) to marvel it´s beauty. Like the name implies, the waterfall is hidden inside the mountain but easy to find, once you know the route.
The black sand beach of Reynisfjara is one of the biggest attraction in Iceland and the iconic Reynisdrangar cliffs, sticking out from the sea. Be careful, the tides can sneak up on you.
We take a walk on the wild side towards the glaciers and gently place our feet at the edge. Take a selfie and voila, we can claim to have stepped on to a glacier.
The majestic Skógarfoss waterfall is 60 meters high no less. One can spend hours staring at it. We will spend 20 minutes doing so
Gullfoss waterfall, renowned for its thundering cascades and hypnotizing beauty is definitely Iceland´s no 1 most visited and photographed waterfall.
The journey continues to the Geysir geothermal area, where we can watch Strokkur, a powerful geyser, erupt every five minutes.
Thingvellir National Park, a gem with immense historical and geological significance. This is where Iceland’s parliament was established in 930 A.D., with thirty ruling chiefs gathering here annually to discuss the island's laws until Danish rule began. It’s also where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet, allowing us to “walk between continents” at this unique location. Adding to the experience, we’ll take a short hike to the picturesque Öxararfoss waterfall, one of Iceland's few human-made waterfalls. The Öxará River was redirected in the 10th century to provide water for parliamentary assemblies.
