    Arequipa – Campamento Base del Volcán Chachani

    Chachani Volcano

    Pickup from your hotel in Arequipa (7:30–8:00 a.m.) to begin the 4x4 drive to Chachani Volcano, passing through the Salinas y Aguada Blanca Reserve and spotting Andean wildlife such as vicuñas. Drive up to 4,900 meters above sea level, where we’ll make preparations and have a brief briefing before starting the trek. A 2- to 3-hour hike to base camp (5,200 meters above sea level), surrounded by volcanic landscapes. Upon arrival, we’ll set up tents, rest, and enjoy a box lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll have free time to acclimatize and prepare for the ascent. We’ll have a hot dinner at camp, a final briefing from the guide, and rest under the starry Andean sky.

    Campamento Base – Cumbre del Volcán Chachani – Retorno a Arequipa

    The second day of the tour begins at dawn with a light breakfast and packing up the gear for the ascent of Chachani Volcano. The hike, lasting 5 to 6 hours, is guided and maintained at a steady pace, traversing unique volcanic landscapes until reaching the summit, where breathtaking views of the Misti, Ampato, and Coropuna volcanoes await you. After enjoying the summit, the approximately 3-hour descent to base camp begins. After collecting your gear, the return journey begins in a 4x4 vehicle, crossing the Salinas and Aguada Blanca Reserve, surrounded by spectacular Andean landscapes. Finally, arrival in Arequipa, where this unforgettable high-mountain experience comes to an end.
