9:30 AM: Departure from the office in Puerto Maldonado to the main port. Boat ride (~40 min) along the Madre de Dios River to the jungle lodge. Welcome tropical drink and briefing about the itinerary. 1:00 PM: Lunch and check-in to rooms. Afternoon jungle walk to see ancient trees and wildlife like monkeys, insects, and birds. Night river excursion to spot caimans, capybaras, armadillos, and other nocturnal animals.
2:30 AM: Early departure by boat to Puerto Maldonado, then a 1.5-hour drive to Puerto Filadelfia. Boat ride to the famous Chuncho Macaw Clay Lick in the Tambopata River. Wildlife sightings possible: capybaras, deer, tapirs, and even jaguars. Breakfast at the clay lick, watching vibrant macaws, parrots, and parakeets gather for minerals. 11:30 AM: Return to the lodge. 1:00 PM: Lunch. Kayaking on the Madre de Dios River, with chances to see butterflies, turtles, and birds. Dinner. Optional: Campfire experience with jungle legends and stargazing.
4:30 AM: Breakfast. 5:00 AM: Excursion to Lake Sandoval, located inside the Tambopata National Reserve. A 3 km hike through the forest leads to the lake. Wildlife spotting: howler monkeys, giant river otters, black caimans, turtles, and exotic birds like hoatzins, toucans, and kingfishers. 1:00 PM: Lunch at the lodge. Boat ride + short jungle walk to reach the canopy bridge and zipline, a high-adrenaline activity. Sunset return to the lodge, with possible views of toucans and parrots in flight. Guided night walk to discover nocturnal jungle life: frogs, spiders, insects, snakes, and camouflaged reptiles.
8:00 AM: Breakfast. 9:30 AM: Jungle hike along the Tapir Trail, through aguaje palm swamps—a favorite habitat of tapirs, wild pigs, toucans, and other forest creatures. From November to April, this area floods and becomes home to anacondas. 1:00 PM: Lunch. 2:30 PM: Sport fishing on the river. Expect to catch piranhas, paco, sardines, catfish, and more. 4:00 PM: Return to the lodge.
8:00 AM: Breakfast. 9:30 AM: Visit to Monkey Island, where rescued monkeys live freely. Guests can feed them fruits and interact. 1:00 PM: Lunch. Free afternoon to relax in hammocks, play billiards, or enjoy the peaceful jungle environment. 4:00 PM: Return to Puerto Maldonado.
