Under the Clock
Travelers are picked up from the airport or bus station and transferred to the lodge in Tambopata, passing a small community where parrots and macaws can be seen. After settling into their river-view rooms, they enjoy an introductory jungle walk to observe centuries-old trees and wildlife such as toucans, monkeys, and butterflies. After lunch, a sunset boat ride offers panoramic views while searching for sloths, tropical birds, caimans, and capybaras, creating an authentic Amazon experience.
Start the day with breakfast before traveling by boat to Sandoval Lake, one of Tambopata’s most biodiverse areas. After a 3 km hike, explore the lake by canoe, observing hoatzins, monkeys, sloths, herons, eagles, and possibly giant river otters and large black caimans. Return to the lodge for lunch. At night, take a guided walk searching for nocturnal wildlife such as frogs, tarantulas, owls, snakes, and fireflies an unforgettable Amazon rainforest experience.
Experience an unforgettable Amazon day beginning at dawn with a visit to the vibrant Parrot Clay Lick, where dozens of parrots gather each morning to feed on mineral-rich clay. Enjoy the sunrise, jungle sounds, and a continental breakfast before relaxing at the lodge. After lunch, continue the adventure with an exciting 30-meter canopy zipline, offering adrenaline-filled views above the rainforest. End the day with a delicious Amazonian dinner surrounded by the sounds of the jungle.
Navigate 30 minutes along the Tambopata River to the Monkey House, where you can interact with squirrel, howler, and spider monkeys—feed them, take photos, and play with them. Continue along the Madre de Dios River to a cetico forest, home to three-toed sloths, where 2 to 5 wild sloths can often be spotted. Enjoy a continental breakfast before preparing for the return journey. Around 10:30 a.m., pack your bags and say goodbye to Peru’s rich biodiversity as you head back to the city for drop-off at the airport or bus station.
