Embark on a full day adventure into jungle waterfalls, panoramic views and nature in the depths of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains at the private nature reserve of Nevada San Martin.
Our journey begins in the town of Minca at an elevation of approximately 680m. There are numerous bakeries, restaurants, and stores.
We will be ascending from Minca in 4x4 around the San Lorenzo Ridge which will offer views of Cerro Kennedy from below.
Given the proper conditions, we'll enjoy views of the Cienaga Grande de Santa Marta along with the Caribbean Sea throughout the day.
As we pass through the vereda (small village) of Vista Nieves, we'll have an opportunity to see the snow covered peaks of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains that rise to almost 6000m. Given the right conditions, we'll stop briefly for pictures and some interesting facts.
Our 45 minute drive up and around the San Lorenzo ridge on a paved road takes us to the edge of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta National Park, to the private nature reserve of Nevada San Martin. Upon arrival you will embark on a guided hike on private trails learning about the flora, fauna, hydrology, and history of La Sierra. The day is highlighted by waterfalls and panoramic viewpoints at which point you can relax and take it all in, just your group connecting nature. Water refill stations and bathrooms are provided. Please bring any snacks/food to enjoy during our breaks. Lunch is recommended and private catering is available at an additional cost.
