Every bottle reflects the dramatic landscape, centuries of winemaking heritage, and the sun-soaked soul of Santorini. Koutsogiannopoulos Winery & Wine Museum in Santorini offers a unique journey through the island’s rich winemaking history. Family-run since 1870, it features Greece’s only underground wine museum, carved into a 300-meter cave. Visitors explore centuries-old traditions before enjoying tastings of their acclaimed wines like Assyrtiko, Orange Wine, and Kamaritis, all crafted from Santorini’s volcanic vineyards.
Art Space Winery in Exo Gonia, Santorini, is a captivating fusion of history, art, and viticulture. Established in 1861 by the Argiros family, the winery ceased operations in 1952 when Nikolaos A. Argyros, the third-generation owner, founded the Union of Cooperatives for Products of Thira, now known as SantoWines . In 1999, his son, Antonis N. Argyros, revitalized the historic site, transforming it into a unique establishment that combines a modern winery, an art gallery, and a wine museum. The winery is nestled within volcanic pumice rock caves, providing an ideal environment for wine maturation due to the natural insulation. Art Space employs organic farming practices and natural winemaking techniques, producing a selection of wines including Assyrtiko, Nychteri, Vinsanto, and Mavrotragano.
