  The Citadel

  One of the highest spots in Amman, the Amman Citadel offers panoramic views of the city, overlooking different parts of Jordan’s capital. Rich in history, this archaeological site has been continuously occupied since the Bronze Age and is home to iconic landmarks such as the Temple of Hercules, the Umayyad Palace, and the Byzantine Church. Visitors can explore remnants of past civilizations while enjoying a unique perspective on Amman’s blend of ancient and modern landscapes. A ticket needs to be bought separately, includes entry to the museum. This tour does not include a guide at The Citadel. Can be hired with help from our host. [This attraction will not be included in our evening Ramadan Special, as it will be closed]

  Roman Theatre

  The Roman Amphitheater is one of Amman’s most iconic landmarks, nestled at the base of the city’s ancient downtown. As part of the tour, we’ll enter the site to explore its grand structure and the small on-site museum, which showcases traditional Jordanian life and heritage. While the amphitheater itself isn’t large, it offers a striking glimpse into the city’s Roman past. For those interested in a deeper historical perspective, our host can assist in arranging a local guide.

  Al Balad – Downtown Amman

  The ancient area surrounding the Roman Amphitheater is the heart of old Amman. We’ve designed the perfect walking experience through its lively souks and historic alleys, where you’ll discover the authentic sights, smells, and flavors of the city. The basic tour includes a light tasting of local snacks and drinks. For those wanting more, you can choose between two upgraded options: a food-focused walk with a variety of tastings along the way, or a full-meal experience that brings together the highlights of Levantine street food in one satisfying tour.

  Grand Husseini Mosque

  We’ll pass through one of Amman’s most vibrant souks, set against the backdrop of the Grand Husseini Mosque—an iconic landmark built in 1924. This bustling traditional marketplace offers everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to herbs, spices, nuts, and even gadgets. It’s a perfect spot to soak in the energy of downtown life.
