Join me for an unforgettable astronomy adventure at an exclusive mountaintop observatory. My parents are astronomers here, giving us special access to the biggest telescope in the region!
We’ll meet in the afternoon and take a private bus to the observatory. After settling in, we’ll tour the facility and dive into the wonders of the universe with expert astronomers. As night falls, we’ll gather around a campfire, share stories, and roast marshmallows before exploring the night sky through powerful telescopes—spotting planets, constellations, and deep-space objects. At midnight, you can rest or stay up for more stargazing with hot drinks.
At sunrise, we’ll witness the sun’s first light with precise calculations from our scientists. Before heading back, we’ll visit the historic observatory and its rare artifacts, followed by a traditional Egyptian breakfast.
Whether you’re a space enthusiast or just love magical night skies, this experience will leave you in awe!
Meet up is at Madinaty city's gate entrance no.1
Perched high in the mountains, this observatory offers breathtaking panoramic views, far from city lights, making it the perfect place for stargazing. The crisp, clear air and high altitude provide an unparalleled window into the cosmos. This site isn’t just about the stars—it’s steeped in history. Built in 1964, the observatory houses the largest telescope in the Middle East and Africa, continuing the legacy of Egypt’s astronomical research that dates back to ancient times. Nearby, the older observatory, established in 1903, holds rare artifacts, manuscripts, and scientific instruments that trace humanity’s quest to understand the universe. As the night unfolds, the observatory transforms. The vast desert sky shifts, revealing constellations and celestial events few get to witness. Whether by the glow of the campfire or through the lens of a powerful telescope, this location connects past and present, science and wonder.
In the morning, we’ll visit the historic Helwan Observatory (est. 1903), a UNESCO World Heritage site that played a key role in early space research. Its museum houses rare astronomical artifacts, while the old library holds thousands of invaluable manuscripts and books. We’ll take a quick tour to explore its rich history before enjoying a traditional Egyptian breakfast. Afterward, we’ll board our private bus and return to our meeting point.
