  Stop at Schloss Ort On the way to Hallstatt, we’ll make a stop at Schloss Ort, a fairytale-like castle set on a small island in Lake Traunsee. Linked to the shore by a charming wooden bridge, the whitewashed walls and onion-domed tower make it one of Austria’s most photographed lakeside landmarks. During this visit, you can stroll across the bridge, step into the atmospheric courtyard, and take in the castle’s unique charm framed by the dramatic peaks of the Salzkammergut.   Welcome to Hallstatt Arriving in Hallstatt — often referred to as the Pearl of the Austrian Alps — you’ll find yourself in one of Europe’s most enchanting and historic villages.
