Taking the old road to Thebes, after 50 minutes of driving we will encounter Mount Kithairon, the "brother" of Helikon. Near Plataea, we’ll enjoy a view of the Plataean plain, the site of the Battle of Plataea—a decisive land battle between the Greeks and the Persians in 479 BC.
