The Valley of the Kings and the temple of Hatshepsut are amazing treasures to visit but can be challenging in terms of managing the logistics of the experience. I would like you to experience these monuments in a comfortable and personalized way at your own pace and according to what you would like. My tour organizes the transportation and facilitates the purchase of tickets so that you do not have to encounter any hassle at the sites. If you would like for me to arrange for a private guide I can set that up for you. If instead you would like a more relaxed approach to visiting the monuments, you will have the flexibility to see the tombs and temple with a few recommendations from me.
Please meet me at the lobby of the hotel or at the exterior of the residence where you are staying. At the end of the tour, I can return you to the meeting point or to another destination within the general area.
We can set up an appropriate drop-off location.
The Valley of the Kings features 60 tombs from the Pharaonic era hidden in the side of the mountain. With the ticket you will be able to visit three of them, gaining a glimpse of life from thousands of years ago with the frescoed walls. In addition you will have a ticket to visit the tomb of King Tutankhamon. You can choose to tour these tombs on your own or if you prefer, with a guide. Some of these tombs go deep into the ground. Special tombs like that of Seti I require a separate ticket which you can purchase at the ticket office.
Built for Queen Hatshepsut who acted like a pharaoh this temple is set into the embrace of the mountains. As you approach the temple, you can appreciate its magnificent setting in the larger landscape and procession through the terraces. Made out of a similar material, the columns blend into the mountain, so that the temple seems carved out of the mountainside. The majestic architecture, frescoed paintings and axial views in various directions reinforce the power of Queen Hatshepsut making her contribution to the landscape more memorable than that of her male peers.
Visitors can take photographs with the colossal statues of Memnon which have stood overlooking the Nile Valley since 1350 B.C.E.
