Wien Hauptbahnhof Meeting Point – Vienna Central Station (Wien Hauptbahnhof) Taxi Pick-Up Area at Südtiroler Platz We recommend meeting outside Wien Hauptbahnhof on the Südtiroler Platz (South Tyrol Square) side, at the taxi pick-up/drop-off area. This spot is easy to find, and allows for short-term parking—ideal for private transfers. Address for GPS: Südtiroler Platz, 1100 Vienna, Austria (Entrance side of Hauptbahnhof facing the tram stops and taxi zone) Look for your driver: We will wait near the taxi area, holding a sign with your name. Please ensure your phone is reachable in case we need to coordinate. Attention: Summer Travel Update Please note, that we do not offer Day tours to Ljubljana during the summer holiday period due to severe traffic congestion at the Austria–Slovenia–Croatia border. We appreciate your understanding and recommend exploring our other available destinations during this time.

As we depart the city, you can relax and enjoy the changing Austrian landscapes as we head toward Graz and Zagreb
Our journey from Vienna to Zagreb takes around 4.5 to 5 hours, depending on traffic and border conditions. For comfort and safety, we always include a short coffee/restroom break about halfway through — usually after 2.5 hours of driving, near Graz or just before the Slovenian border.
Coffee break in Graz Stretch your legs : enjoy a proper espresso, use clean restrooms, give our driver a short legal rest. Arrive in Zagreb fresh and ready to explore
After our short break in or near Graz, we continue south toward Zagreb, Croatia’s capital — crossing two international borders along the way (Austria → Slovenia → Croatia). What to Expect: Border Control: You’ll need a valid passport or EU ID. Both Slovenia and Croatia are in the EU Drive Time: Approximately 2.5 hours from Graz to Zagreb, depending on border wait times and traffic around Maribor. Scenery: This stretch is scenic — forests, vineyards, and rolling hills — and we stay on good highways almost the entire way.
Because Google Maps can’t tell you stories. When we arrive in Zagreb, we don’t just drop you off with a map and say “good luck.” You’ll be greeted by a local guide who knows the city’s history, secrets, and how to dodge tourist traps. What You’ll See : St. Mark’s Church – With the crazy tiled roof that’s more Instagrammed than explained. Stone Gate – A city gate that’s also a shrine Lotrščak Tower – Learn why a cannon fires every day at noon. Tkalčićeva Street – Cafés, people-watching, and stories you won’t find in any brochure. Ban Jelačić Square – Zagreb’s main plaza and beating heart. All in a relaxed 1.5-hour walk, flat and easy, with plenty of photo stops
You’ve just wrapped up the guided tour. You know the saints, the cannons, the kings. Now you’ve got 1.5 hours to make Zagreb yours — and yes, that’s enough time to fall in love with it (or at least with the food).
Let’s not sugarcoat it: it’s a haul. Once your Zadar gelato has melted and your camera’s full of tiled roofs and cannon towers, it’s time for the long stretch home.
After 2 hours drive you will need a short break at least for coffee somewhere on the road back to hotel in Vienna
It will be a quiet ride, not a sightseeing tour. Bring snacks, podcasts, and patience. Don’t expect to roll into Vienna feeling like you just stepped out of a spa. But you’ll get there. And you’ll have done two countries in one day, which is still pretty cool
