After arriving in the village of Čachtice, nestled beneath the castle hill, we begin our short walk (30 min.) up to Čachtice Castle. The path is scenic and peaceful, offering lovely views of the surrounding countryside and vineyards. Along the way, your guide will share stories about the village’s history and the region’s connection to the noble Báthory family, including the life of Elizabeth Báthory, whose legend inspired books and films such as the 2008 movie Bathory: Countess of Blood, directed by Slovak filmmaker Juraj Jakubisko.
