Design and build your own knife in the heart of Nara. In this hands-on workshop at Musashi, you choose a blade and a handle from your selection, then craft and assemble your very own knife under the guidance of an experienced instructor. This is full customization from start to finish — no two knives are the same, and yours is yours to keep.
Your instructor walks you through every step: selecting your components, a safety briefing, the technique, and the assembly process itself. If you'd like, you can add a personal engraving before the blade and handle are joined. By the end, you'll leave with a knife you made with your own hands — plus expert tips on how to care for it, store it, and travel with it safely.

Meeting and pickup
From JR Nara Station, take the East Exit, cross the plaza and walk straight onto Sanjo-dori, the wide shopping street ahead. Continue east for about 5 minutes (450 m) without turning. Cross the traffic lights at Yasuragi-no-Michi and you'll find us a short way further along the same street.
