What to expect

We will meet our guests and provide a brief safety meeting where we will discuss the tour and safety instructions. We will then paddle into the Mosquito Lagoon at dark where our guests will experience the magic of bioluminescence. The bioluminescence is created by dinoflagellates, a phytoplankton that is classified as an algae. The dinoflagellates glow, as a defense mechanism, when anything mechanically touches them. This includes fish, manatees, dolphins, your paddle, your vessel and your hands and feet.

On our journey we will stop at a small island where our guests can exit their vessels to stretch their legs, get a drink, and splash in the bioluminescent waters. We will stay on the island for about 10-15 minutes.

We will then continue our adventure in the Mosquito Lagoon in search of schools of fish, manatees, dolphins, and other marine life such as comb jellyfish which are also bioluminescent. We will end our journey back at the launch where we began this magical evening.

Bioluminescence only occurs in certain places around the world and the Mosquito Lagoon is one of them! This will truly be a magical night our guests will never forget.
