Leave the city in 10 minutes and stand above it all. This small-group, private and guided sunrise hike to Las Moyas delivers Bogotá’s most breathtaking skyline views—safe early entry (6–8am), back before lunch.

This 2–3 hour morning hike begins with a calm forest path and finishes at a ridge where Bogotá spreads out beneath you — a breathtaking panorama many say rivals or even surpasses Monserrate. Because entry is only between 6–8am, the trail feels safe, quiet, and uncrowded, with fresh mountain air as your companion.

You can hike on your own for freedom and flexibility, or join with a local guide for added safety, cultural insights, and the best photo stops. Either way, you’ll be back before lunch — with a unique memory that feels far from the city, yet is just minutes away.

What to expect

The Las Moyas hike is a short, rewarding escape into Bogotá’s Eastern Hills. You’ll start early — entry is limited to 6–8am — when the city is quiet and the mountains feel like they belong only to you.

The trail begins with a steady climb through shaded Andean forest. Within minutes, the city noise fades and you’ll hear only birdsong and your own footsteps. After about 45 minutes, the path opens to a ridge where Bogotá stretches far below, framed by rock formations and the high Andes beyond. It’s a panoramic view that locals treasure and travelers often call “better than Monserrate” — without the crowds.

You’ll have time to rest, enjoy a snack, take photos, and breathe the crisp morning air before descending the same way. In total, the hike takes 2–3 hours round trip, leaving you free to enjoy the rest of your Bogotá day.
