What to expect

Dejima Hoppen, a kimono rental shop located inside the Nationally designated historic site Dejima Dutch Trading Post Ruins, which restore Dejima, the only place in Japan that traded with west during the Edo period, has over 100 kimonos for men, women, and children three years old or older. You can choose a kimono with your favorite pattern and only takes 20 minutes per person to prepare. Hair accessories, Zori sandals, and a bag are included in the rental, so you don't need to bring anything.
Dejima has Japanese-style tatami mat rooms and a small garden, where you can enjoy taking photos in a location that suits kimonos while feeling the history of the island. They will also hold on to your luggage (be sure to take your valuables)
We hope you enjoy wearing kimono, the most popular and quintessential Japanese experience, in historic Nagasaki.
You can rent kimonos until 5 PM if you want.
