This is not your average nature walk. Hosted by beloved fairytale characters, this berry picking adventure blends education, imagination, and Icelandic folklore into one magical family outing.

Set just outside Reykjavík, it’s a rare chance to introduce children to the joy of foraging in a safe, playful environment, guided by a real Snow Princess! Kids don’t just pick berries, they learn where they grow, how to harvest them, and why wild food is a treasure hidden in plain sight.

While most tours focus on adults, this one is made for families, especially those with young children. The experience is interactive, screen-free, and rooted in sustainability, it's perfect for travelers who value nature, learning, and quality time.

What to expect

Step into an enchanted Icelandic forest just outside Reykjavík, where the Snow Princess and Mountain Man will guide your family on a magical berry-picking adventure! This hands-on experience is perfect for families with young children aged 3–8 who love nature, stories, and a bit of fairy-tale fun.

You'll explore the local landscape, learn how to identify edible wild crowberries, and hear fascinating facts about Icelandic plants, wildlife, and folklore. The Snow Princess will teach children how to pick berries respectfully and responsibly, a wonderful introduction to foraging and sustainability.

Every family will receive a beautifully illustrated berry recipe booklet to take home, filled with creative ideas to make the most of your harvest. Of course, there will also be time for photos with the characters: a perfect keepsake from your day in nature.
