Meeting and pickup
Follow the Google Maps pin - it takes you to the door. We are in a 1930s heritage house on Al Farazdaq Street, Jabal Al-Lweibdeh, set back from the road. Look for the stone building with the Gilgamesh sign.
What to expect
Spend an hour painting on glass in a 1930s heritage house in Jabal Al-Lweibdeh. No experience is needed - your instructor stays beside you, and the outliner and paints do most of the work.
What you'll do:
Choose your design - a hamsa, a lemon branch, an icon, a cat, or something of your own.
Trace the outline onto the glass in relief. This is the raised line that gives the piece its stained-glass look.
Fill the shapes with special permanent glass paints and watch the colours flood and settle.
Take a coffee break with tea, juices, fruit and pastries, included in the price.
You leave with the finished panel in your hands. Light passes through it, so it is made to sit in a window.
The studio is also a working art cafe and gallery, so you paint with other makers around you and the studio cats wandering between the tables. Suitable for complete beginners, good on your own, and better still with friends.
