A short climb up Noomotio Observation Hill rewards you with a breathtaking 360° panorama over Amboseli — swamps, plains, acacia woodlands and, if you’re lucky, the snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro emerging at dawn or dusk. From this vantage point, watch elephants, giraffes, hippos and other wildlife roam below across the vast savannah and wetlands. It’s an easy, refreshing walk — a perfect pause between game drives — that lets you stretch your legs, capture sweeping photos, and soak in the immensity of Africa’s wild heart.

At Oltukai Lodge, guests enjoy a relaxing lunch in one of Amboseli’s most scenic settings — a beautiful, open-air dining area facing the endless plains and the wetlands where elephants often graze. Travelers can choose from a fresh buffet or à la carte menu (at their own cost), featuring both Kenyan and international dishes. After lunch, guests can stroll to the lodge’s viewing decks for uninterrupted views of Mount Kilimanjaro (weather permitting) and excellent wildlife watching right from the property. It’s a peaceful, refreshing break before continuing the afternoon game drive through Amboseli.
