  Opposite the mosque, you’ll find the Corniche and the old harbor, where colorful fishing boats line the waterfront and local fishermen can be seen casting nets or repairing them by hand. From there, continue to the exterior of the impressive Qaitbay Citadel, built on the very site of the legendary Lighthouse of Alexandria one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
