“Yobanashi” refers to a tea gathering held at night.
In this experience, you will step into a dimly lit room wrapped in deep darkness, where the space is enclosed by dark curtains and illuminated only by the gentle flicker of candlelight.
This serene and mysterious atmosphere invites you to immerse yourself in the enchanting world of the “Yobanashi” tea ceremony.

Just a 3-minute walk from Kintetsu Nara Station, and conveniently located near major sightseeing spots, it’s the perfect place to stop by and take a relaxing break during your journey.

Meeting and pickup
There is a small alley next to the parking lot. At the end of the alley, you will find “OKUNO Rental Space” on the left-hand side, so please come there.
What to expect
2.The teacher will demonstrate the formal tea preparation right in front of you. Every movement is intentional, and just watching this careful process makes the atmosphere quiet and still, naturally centering your mind. The freshly prepared matcha will then be served to all guests. The moment you take a sip, the rich aroma and smooth flavor of the matcha will let you experience the true spirit of hospitality.
3.Next, select your second sweet. Each one beautifully represents Japan's seasons, with delicate sweetness that perfectly complements the matcha.
4.Now, it’s your turn to prepare matcha. Under the teacher’s guidance, scoop hot water and whisk the tea. The sound of the water, the rising aroma, and the rhythm of whisking create a peaceful, enriching experience you won’t find in daily life.
5.Photo session: Our staff will take photos for you during the experience and print one with a Polaroid camera as a special souvenir.
