We Pick our Guest from the Airport. We are always at the 45 mins before arrival so that our guests don't have to wait for long waiting to be picked up. From the Airport, our guests are driven to the hotel or onto a scheduled flight to the next destination (National Park). We include internal flights in our itinerary to cut the distance and exhaustion from long hours of traveling on the road.
Birding at Entebbe Botanical Gardens an excellent soft introduction to Uganda’s birdlife. Likely sightings: African Grey Parrot, Great Blue Turaco, Ross’s Turaco, Eastern Plantain-eater, Palm-nut Vulture, African Paradise Flycatcher, Woodland Kingfisher, and African Open-billed Stork.
Mabamba Swamp & Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. A full birding session in Mabamba Wetland and prime habitat for wetland species. Likely sightings: Papyrus Gonolek, Blue-breasted Bee-eater, Goliath Heron, African Jacana, Malachite Kingfisher, African Marsh Harrier, Red-chested Sunbird, Little Bittern. Then later in the afternoon, transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
Morning game/birding drive: Likely sightings: Red-faced Barbet, Brown-chested Lapwing, African Finfoot (boat trip option), Bare-faced Go-away Bird, Emerald-spotted Wood Dove, African Hoopoe, Crested Francolin, and African Scops Owl. Optional afternoon activities like Nature walk or optional boat ride for shoreline species.
Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park + Kazinga Channel. Drive west toward Queen Elizabeth National Park — one of Africa’s richest birding zones. Afternoon Boat Cruise — Kazinga Channel. Likely sightings: African Fish Eagle, Yellow-billed Stork, Water Thick-knee, African Skimmer, Great White Pelican, Great Cormorant, Swamp Flycatcher, and Saddle-billed Stork.
Queen Elizabeth National Park. Morning birding drive (Kasenyi Plains / Crater Drive). Likely sightings: Grey Kestrel, White-tailed Lark, Black-bellied Bustard, Martial Eagle, African White-backed Vulture, African Wattled Lapwing, Temminck’s Courser and Lesser flamingos. Afternoon, Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.
Kibale Forest National Park Birding. Likely sightings: Green-breasted Pitta, Afep Pigeon, Black Bee-eater, Yellow-rumped Tinkerbird, Yellow-spotted Barbet, White-naped Pigeon, Dusky Long-tailed Cuckoo. Afternoon activities, Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary walk for sighting of Speckled Tinkerbird, White-tailed Ant-thrush, Shining Blue Kingfisher, Black-and-white Shrike-Flycatcher.
