What to expect

Your day begins with an optional hotel pickup from Hurghada, Makadi Bay, or Soma Bay to the dive center in Safaga. Upon arrival, your professional dive guide provides a briefing covering the history of the Salem Express, the dive route, and safety procedures. Board the boat for a scenic transfer to the wreck site, where calm Red Sea waters provide ideal conditions.

The first dive explores the exterior of the Salem Express, lying on its starboard side at depths between 12 and 30 meters. Glide along the massive hull, observing anchors, lifeboats, deck structures, and reef-colonized sections. After surfacing, enjoy a relaxing break with refreshments and lunch. The second dive revisits key sections of the wreck or nearby reef, offering excellent opportunities for photography and close encounters with marine life.

After completing the dives, return to the dive center, with hotel transfers available if selected. This experience is for certified Advanced Open Water Divers only, ensuring all participants can safely enjoy the historic and visually stunning underwater environment of the Salem Express.
