A scenic minibus ride from Kiruna transports you to Övre-Soppero, a Sámi village surrounded by breathtaking winter landscapes. Here, interact with reindeer and learn about their survival in the harsh tundra, while also contributing to their well-being during tough months. Meeting and pickup
You will receive a message or call with your exact pickup time approximately 1 hour before the activity begins, using the phone number provided in your booking.
The minibus collects guests from several locations and may arrive up to 10 minutes before or after the scheduled pickup time. Please be waiting outside your chosen pickup point no later than the scheduled time, as arrival depends on the order of the pickup route.
If you do not show up for the pickup, the full cost of the tour will be charged. Make sure the phone number in your reservation is valid, as we will attempt to contact you from a Swedish number (+46XXXXXXXX) if we are unable to locate you.
What to expect
Your guide meets you in Kiruna before we head north, making aurora-hunting stops at handpicked viewpoints chosen for clear skies and open horizons.
When we arrive, you’ll meet the reindeer in a calm winter setting and have the chance to feed them by hand – an essential part of their care during the harsh Arctic months. This is not a show, but real Sámi life shared with you.
You’ll learn about traditions, reindeer herding and what it means to grow up with these animals, through stories passed down for generations.
Afterwards, we warm up inside a traditional Sámi hut with a fire, a hot drink and a sweet snack while you relax and take in the silence of the north.
On the way back to Kiruna, we continue searching for northern lights with extra stops whenever the sky opens.
