Discover two of Patagonia’s most iconic destinations on a full-day private tour from El Calafate. This experience combines a tour of the mythical Route 40, a sailing on Lake Viedma overlooking the stunning Viedma Glacier and free time to discover El Chaltén, the National Capital of Trekking.
The adventure starts with the transfer from your accommodation in El Calafate. During the trip you will visit the vastness of the Patagonian steppe, stopping at the historic Parador La Leona and at different panoramic points of Lake Viedma.
When we arrive at Bahía Túnel we will embark to navigate Lake Viedma and approach the largest glacier in continental Argentina. From the water you can admire its imposing ice walls, floating ice floes and the vastness of the South Patagonian Ice Field.
Then we will make a visit to the village of El Chaltén, where we will make a short walk to know the Chorrillo del Salto Waterfall.

We will pick up the passengers through the door of their accommodation, and begin the 220 kilometer journey to El Chaltén.
Along the way, we will stop at various viewpoints in the Andes Mountains, where passengers can get off the vehicle to take pictures.
Halfway there we will stop at the historic stop and stay La Leona, on the banks of the eponymous river. Passengers can learn the history of the place, buy souvenirs, have breakfast or go to the bathroom if they wish.
Upon arrival at Tunnel Bay, we will embark on the sailing to cross the waters of Lake Viedma. We will see the Viedma Glacier and its ice walls, on the edge of the Andes Mountains.
We will travel 25 kilometers by vehicle to begin a short walk towards the Chorrillo del Salto, a waterfall of glacier origin more than 20 meters high.
