We will visit the Virgin Mary monastery. Although founded in the 13th century, there is little remaining today that is more than 200 years old. However, the modern building inside is an excellent example of Greek monastic architecture, featuring an arched inner courtyard and a small museum housing Byzantine and post-Byzantine icons. The view from the monastery is superb.
From the mountain village of Lakones, where you will enjoy one of the finest panoramic views in Europe. Along the mountain road, you will see the Byzantine Castle Angelokastro perched atop the highest peak of the island's coastline on the northwest coast near Paleokastritsa, built on steep rocky ground 1,000 ft (305 m) above the sea.
in Vistonas village, we will make a short stop to visit the Olive Oil Museum. The ENŌTIS Olive Oil Museum was created to preserve tools, machinery, and artifacts from a family olive oil mill spanning five generations, forming a comprehensive collection with a vision to present and convey the history of olive oil production.
