Located along Yasuragi Street near Kintetsu Nara station, this engaging calligraphy workshop invites participants to embrace the art of Japanese writing. Start off by mastering the ancient techniques of ink stick rubbing and the proper grip of a fude brush. After warming up with basic shapes, practice your chosen character, refining your skill before crafting a final piece adorned with a traditional Japanese frame. Capture the moment with photos of your artwork, and enjoy the unique opportunity to view stunning calligraphy pieces and artworks by the instructor and her husband.

Meeting and pickup
You can find a big poster of peacocks in front of the shop. We will pick you up at there.
What to expect
Once you feel confident, create your final piece. Decorate it with a Japanese-style frame and stamp your name in Japanese. Take photos of your finished work to remember the experience. Moreover, you can view calligraphy kakejiku which the instructor writes and artworks featuring animals, landscapes and Buddha statues by her husband.
