Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), guests will be met by their safari driver-guide and transferred via a scenic route, passing the Great Rift Valley, to Mara Kimana Camp in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. After lunch and check-in, an afternoon game drive will commence, offering opportunities to spot the "Big Five" and witness the renowned Great Migration (seasonal). Dinner and overnight will be at Mara Kimana Camp.
For a full-day Maasai Mara game drive, depart early from Mara Kimana Camp with a packed lunch in your Land Cruiser to maximize wildlife viewing opportunities across diverse areas of the reserve, including potential sightings of lions, leopards, and vast herds of grazers, as well as hippos and crocodiles along the Mara River. Optional hot air balloon safaris are available at extra cost for a unique aerial perspective. Return to camp for dinner and overnight stay
Take an early breakfast and depart from the Maasai Mara. Take a scenic drive in your Land Cruiser today from the Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park. The journey usually takes 5-6 hours through changing scenery and with further opportunities to observe local life. Arrive at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, world famous for its large numbers of flamingos (which however fluctuate with the seasons) and is also a sanctuary for the black and white rhino. You have excellent opportunities of seeing both these animals as well as Rothschild's giraffes, waterbucks, and a variety of bird species. Dinner and overnight at Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge.
After an early morning breakfast, you will depart Lake Nakuru and begin your day by Land Cruiser to Amboseli National Park. This is the longest driving day with a distance of approximately 7-8 hours, depending on road conditions and traffic. You will drive through Nairobi (avoiding the city center whenever possible) and then head south towards Amboseli, offering a diverse change of scenery from the Rift Valley to the semi-arid plains of Amboseli. Check-in at Kibo Safari Camp in the late afternoon. After check-in, there is some time to relax before dinner. Depending on how early you get in and how much energy you have, a short evening game drive can be possible, or alternatively, simply make the most of camp facilities and appreciate the view of Mount Kilimanjaro. Dinner and overnight at Kibo Safari Camp.
The day is spent exploring Amboseli National Park. After breakfast, venture out for a whole-day game drive in your Land Cruiser and have a picnic lunch. Your tour guide will take you through various sections of the park, such as the observation hill, which offers scenic views of the plains, swamps, and Mount Kilimanjaro. You will have sufficient time to take pictures of elephants, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, and other predators. The park's open savannahs make spotting wildlife more convenient. You can also take an optional tour of a Maasai village at an additional cost to discover more about their culture and traditions. Overnight and dinner at Kibo Safari Camp.
Spend another day of activities in Amboseli safari. Get an early morning game drive and watch the animals most active and conclude with a breakfast at the camp. Spend midday relaxing at the camp, use the facilities, and enjoy the view from Kilimanjaro. Afternoon game drive after lunch, new ground you haven't covered or visiting places where you noticed something of interest. This is just to maintain the relaxed pace and have some additional photography and game viewing opportunities. Dinner and overnight at Kibo Safari Camp.
After a final breakfast at the Kibo Safari Camp, you will be departing and embarking on your journey by Land Cruiser to Nairobi. The journey should take around 4-5 hours. Depending on your international flight schedule, you may have some time in Nairobi to do souvenir shopping or visit an optional local sight such as the Giraffe Centre or the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (time and at additional cost permitting). Your safari expedition concludes with a transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) for international departure.
