Early morning briefing at the park headquarters before beginning your gorilla trekking adventure. Led by experienced rangers, trek through the dense forest for 2-6 hours (depending on gorilla location) to find a habituated gorilla family. Spend an unforgettable hour observing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat - watching them feed, play, and interact. Return to the lodge for a well-deserved rest and celebration dinner.
After breakfast, visit the Batwa (Pygmy) community to learn about their traditional forest lifestyle before conservation efforts relocated them. Experience their ancient hunting techniques, traditional dances, and forest knowledge. Take a guided community walk through local villages, visit schools and health centers to understand community conservation efforts. Optional visit to local craft centers to purchase authentic souvenirs.
Choose your adventure: embark on a second gorilla trekking experience to visit a different gorilla family (additional permit required - $700), or enjoy a peaceful nature walk through Bwindi Forest with bird watching opportunities. The forest is home to over 350 bird species including 23 Albertine Rift endemics. Alternatively, relax at your lodge and enjoy the tranquil forest surroundings with spa treatments available.
