This experience lets you explore two different traditional Chinese arts in one afternoon, allowing you to create a personalised experience based on your interests. Each activity is taught in a small-group setting with plenty of individual guidance, making it suitable even for complete beginners. You'll not only make authentic handmade souvenirs to take home, but also learn the cultural stories and symbolism behind each craft. The workshop is designed to be immersive, interactive, and memorable, giving you the opportunity to experience Chinese culture through creating, and hands-on participation rather than simply observing.

What to expect

Spend an inspiring afternoon exploring two traditional Chinese crafts in this relaxed, hands-on 3h workshop. You'll be able to choose two experiences from the four classic Chinese art forms: Choose any two of the following:

- Chinese Knotting: Create a traditional hanging ornament or jewelry piece while learning the symbolism behind Chinese knots and their meanings
- Chinese Ink Painting & Calligraphy: Paint or write the Chinese character on a fan or a lantern, or learn to write your Chinese name using traditional brush calligraphy
- Peking Opera Mask Painting & Dress-Up – Paint either a Sun Wukong (Monkey King) or Caishen (God of Wealth) mask, then dress up in matching traditional costume and have memorable photos taken
- Chinese Paper Cutting: Create a paper cut of your Chinese zodiac animal, a festive design, or a creative artwork using traditional motifs such as fish, flowers, and other auspicious symbols.

All activities are beginner-friendly and include step-by-step guidance from experienced instructors in a small-group setting. By the end of the workshop, you'll take home your handmade creations, along with a deeper appreciation of Chinese traditional arts and crafts.
