Upon arrival at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport in Lusaka, you will be met and transferred to Wild Dog Lodge, a peaceful and comfortable stopover conveniently located near the airport. This first day is reserved for rest and recovery after your journey, with no scheduled activities planned. Guests are free to relax at the lodge, enjoy the tranquil surroundings, or unwind by the facilities at their own pace. In the evening, dinner will be served at the lodge’s restaurant and is available at your own cost, allowing you to choose from a variety of freshly prepared meals before settling in for the night and preparing for the adventure ahead.

Day 2
Drive to Southern Part of Kafue National Park

After an early breakfast, we depart Lusaka and journey to the southern part of Kafue National Park, one of Zambia’s largest and most diverse wildlife areas. Upon arrival, we set up camp at Kasabushi Campsite, ideally located close to the Kafue River and surrounded by pristine wilderness. The day’s activities include guided morning and afternoon game drives, offering excellent opportunities to spot a wide variety of wildlife and birdlife in their natural habitat. Between drives, guests can relax at camp and enjoy the peaceful riverside setting. All meals are freshly prepared and included, allowing you to fully focus on the safari experience.

Morning and Afternoon Game Drive

After breakfast, we drive to the southern part of Kafue National Park, heading toward the scenic Lake Itezhi-Tezhi. Upon arrival, we set up camp at New Kalala, beautifully located along the lakeshore. The area is rich in wildlife and birdlife, with chances to see elephants, hippos, crocodiles, antelope, and a variety of water birds. You’ll enjoy both morning and afternoon game drives, exploring open plains, riverbanks, and woodland habitats. These drives offer excellent opportunities for close wildlife encounters, relaxed photography, and stunning views over the lake. Meals and overnight at camp. All meals are included.

Morning and Afternoon Game Drive

Kafue National Park
The day begins with an early morning game drive, setting out as the bush comes alive. This is one of the best times to spot wildlife at close range, with chances of seeing lions, leopards, hyenas, elephants, and plains game such as zebra, impala, and buffalo. The cool morning hours also offer excellent birdlife sightings and beautiful golden light for photography. After returning for breakfast and some time to relax, you will head out again in the afternoon for another exciting game drive. As temperatures cool, animals become more active, often gathering near water sources. Enjoy breathtaking scenery, dramatic sunset views, and unforgettable wildlife encounters before returning to camp in the evening.

Drive to Lusaka

After breakfast, we depart Kafue and drive back to Lusaka, enjoying the changing landscapes along the way. Upon arrival, we set up camp at Lukasa Guest House, a comfortable and quiet place to relax after the journey. Later, we take a short drive into town to stock up on groceries and any last-minute essentials. This day is kept activity-free, giving you time to rest, freshen up, and reflect on your safari experience. Dinner and overnight at the guest house. All meals are included.

Transfer to Lower Zambezi National Park & Sunset Game Drive

After breakfast, we depart for Lower Zambezi National Park, driving through scenic countryside toward the mighty Zambezi River. On arrival, you’ll settle into your lodge at Kasaka, beautifully located along the riverbank. After some time to relax, you’ll head out for your first game activity—a sunset game drive. This evening drive offers excellent chances to see elephants, buffalo, antelope, and predators as they become active in the cooler hours, with the added magic of golden light reflecting off the Zambezi. From this day onward, you will enjoy two game drives daily—morning and afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Kasaka. All meals are included.

Morning and Afternoon Game Drive or Walking Safari

After an early breakfast, you may choose between a morning game drive or a guided walking safari. Game drives provide excellent opportunities to see elephants, lions, leopards, buffalo, and a wide variety of plains game, while the walking safari offers a more intimate experience, learning to track animals and discover smaller details of the bush with an expert guide. In the afternoon, after lunch and some relaxation at the lodge, you head out again for another game drive or walking safari. As the day cools, wildlife becomes more active, often gathering along the Zambezi River, making for rewarding sightings and beautiful sunset views before returning to camp.

This day continues with immersive safari experiences in Lower Zambezi National Park. After an early breakfast, you’ll head out for a morning game drive or a guided walking safari. Expect close encounters with elephants, buffalo, antelope, and possibly predators such as lions and leopards, while enjoying the fresh morning air and sounds of the bush. In the afternoon, following lunch and time to relax by the river, you’ll set out once again for an afternoon game drive or walking safari. This is a wonderful time to observe wildlife along the Zambezi River, capture stunning photographs, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere as the sun sets, before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, we load your luggage and depart Lower Zambezi National Park for the drive back to Lusaka. Enjoy the final views of the Zambezi landscape as we travel directly to the airport.
