Hello and welcome — I’m glad you’re joining this private journey to Terezín, a place where history is deeply felt.
Today we’ll walk through the former Terezín ghetto and memorial sites in a small private group, with time to pause and take in the atmosphere.
Terezín was a closed ghetto during World War II, where thousands of Jews were held in harsh conditions, and Nazi propaganda efforts were also carried out. Its history is complex and important to understand.
We’ll visit key places that help tell this story, including former ghetto areas and memorial spaces.

The Terezín Ghetto and the Large Fortress (Velká pevnost) were central to Terezín’s WWII history. The ghetto housed thousands of Jewish prisoners, while the fortress was a military structure from the 18th century. Terezín was also used as a Nazi propaganda site. Visitors can explore museum exhibits, memorials, and preserved buildings to learn about the lives of prisoners and the town’s complex history.
The Small Fortress (Malá pevnost) was built in the 18th century as part of the Terezín fortress system. During World War II, it was used by the Gestapo as a prison, where people were held in very harsh conditions. Today, it serves as a museum that brings its military history to life and reminds visitors of its tragic role during the Holocaust.
