What's Included
Meeting and pickup
Exit Kintetsu Nara Station from Exit 4 and walk straight south along Konishi Sakura-dori Shopping Street for about 3 minutes. The workshop venue is on the 5th floor of the building with Sundrug (Iseya Building). If you have any trouble finding the location, please feel free to contact us.
What to expect
１．Introduction and Design Guidance
The instructor explains the characteristics of bamboo lanterns and shows design examples.
Participants are free to choose their own pattern.
２．Preparing the Bamboo and Drawing the Design
Participants draw their design directly onto pre-processed bamboo.
Sample patterns are available for those who prefer guidance.
３．Drilling and Crafting Process
Using electric tools, participants carefully drill holes following their design.
Staff members provide full support to ensure a safe and comfortable experience.
４．Finishing and Lighting the Lantern
An LED light is placed inside the lantern to complete the piece.
Participants can enjoy the warm light shining through the bamboo immediately.
