This is a guided Arctic experience led by someone born and raised in Kiruna, offering a genuine local perspective of the surrounding wilderness. My lifelong connection to the area allows us to explore quiet forests and open landscapes away from crowded tourist routes.
The pace and route are adapted to the weather, snow conditions, and your comfort level on the day, creating a flexible and natural experience in the Arctic environment.
This is a slow and authentic experience focused on silence, nature, and real local knowledge—an alternative to mass tourism and standard group excursions.

Please note: Pick-up and drop-off are available for an additional fee. If you would like this service, please select the "Tour included transfer" option when making your booking.
From Kiruna: Drive on the E10 and turn at the sign for Kauppinen. Follow the village road until you see a large red house on your right with a reflector in a tree. Turn in and park behind the house. From Jukkasjärvi: The red house will be on your left.

We'll meet at my family homestead, where you'll receive a brief safety briefing and an introduction to using snowshoes. Once everyone is comfortable and ready, we'll head out together into the forest to begin our adventure.

We'll begin our snowshoe hike through the peaceful forest, making our way up to a small hill while enjoying the beautiful winter scenery along the way.

At the top, we'll take a well-earned break to enjoy the beautiful views while warming up with a hot drink before continuing our adventure back down.

After taking in the views, we'll make our way back down the hill and continue through the peaceful forest, enjoying the tranquility of the winter landscape as we return to my family homestead.

Back at Kauppinen, we'll remove our snowshoe equipment and take a moment to reflect on the experience and share our favorite moments from the hike. If you've requested transportation, we'll then drive you back to your accommodation.
