Discover the authentic tastes of Lima on this gastronomic experience through the Historic Center. During this tour of approximately 3 hours and a half we will walk through emblematic places such as St. Martin's Square, the Central Market and the traditional Chinese Quarter. Travelers will know local ingredients, taste typical Peruvian food and enjoy a taste of the famous Pisco Sour. As we walk along historic streets such as the Jirón de la Unión, the guide will share stories about the city’s culture, gastronomy and history. The tour ends near the Plaza de Armas in Lima, the historic heart of the Peruvian capital.
Meeting point in front of the main entrance of the Gran Hotel Bolivar, located in Jirón de la Unión, in the Historic Center of Lima. The guide will be waiting with a sign with the name of the tour. Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of the experience.
The tour ends in Lima’s Plaza de Armas, in the Historic Center. From here travelers can continue exploring Lima Cathedral, the Government Palace or walk through the nearby historic streets.
Start of the tour at the historic Gran Hotel Bolivar, located in Plaza San Martin. Here the guide will give a brief introduction on the history of the Lima Center and Peruvian gastronomy before starting the gastronomic experience.
Walk along the most traditional street in the center, history and gastronomic stops.
We will visit the historic Church and Convent of La Merced, one of the most important temples of the Historic Center of Lima. The guide will briefly explain the history of the place and its importance during colonial times as we walk along the traditional Union Jirón.
We will visit the famous Central Market of Lima, where travelers will know traditional Peruvian ingredients, exotic fruits and different local food stalls. Here you will taste some typical flavors of Peruvian cuisine.
We will walk through the traditional Lima Chinatown, an area full of history and culture. Travelers can learn about the Chinese influence on Peruvian cuisine and try some typical snacks.
Travelers will enjoy a tasting of the traditional Pisco Sour, Peru’s most iconic cocktail, while the guide explains its history and the ingredients that make it unique.
