Long before the 2005 film, the BBC's 1995 adaptation of Pride and Prejudice - starring Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth - brought Jane Austen's Derbyshire to life across a set of real locations that fans still travel to see today.

Travelling from Manchester in a small group, you'll visit Lyme Park Gardens, whose grand exterior and deer park played Pemberley (including the site of Mr Darcy's famous lake scene), before a lunch stop in the Regency spa town of Buxton. The afternoon takes in Ramshaw Rocks, the dramatic outcrop where Elizabeth admires "the untamed beauty of the peaks," Sudbury Hall's Pemberley interiors, and Longnor, the real village that played Lambton.

    Lyme Park

    This is where it began - Lyme Park's grand Palladian front and sweeping deer park served as the exterior of Pemberley itself, including the now-legendary scene of Mr Darcy's unplanned dip in the lake. Entry is included in your tour price.

    Buxton

    We break for lunch in Buxton, one of England's great Regency spa towns. While Buxton has no direct Pride and Prejudice connection, its elegant Georgian architecture and crescent make it a fitting, atmospheric stop for a Regency-era day out.

    Ramshaw

    A dramatic gritstone outcrop on the Staffordshire-Derbyshire border, Ramshaw Rocks is where Elizabeth and her aunt and uncle, the Gardiners, pause on their Derbyshire tour to take in what the series calls "the untamed beauty of the peaks" - one of the series' most striking landscape shots.
