Our first stop will be Český Šternberk Castle, the historic residence of the noble Šternberk family, where the count still lives with his family and occasionally welcomes visitors in person. As you explore the castle courtyard and fortifications, you will notice unique architectural details and enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. Inside, you will discover richly decorated Baroque interiors across fifteen halls filled with paintings, tapestries, hunting trophies, and impressive collections of historical weapons. During the tour, you will learn about the castle’s fascinating history and the important decisions once made within its walls. After the visit, you will have free time to relax, take photos, and browse local souvenirs. Admission to Český Šternberk Castle is not included in the tour price. Guests can purchase tickets on-site at the castle entrance if they wish to visit the interior.
Next, you will arrive in the historic town of Kutná Hora, surrounded by legends of kings, knights, and silver miners. The medieval Sedlec Ossuary, also known as the Bone Church, is one of the town’s most remarkable landmarks and leaves a lasting impression on visitors. Inside, you will see pyramids of human skulls and a massive chandelier containing every bone of the human body. Admission to the Sedlec Ossuary is not included in the tour price. Guests can purchase tickets on-site at the entrance if they wish to visit the interior.
After a short lunch break and some time for souvenir shopping, we will continue to St. Barbara's Cathedral, the magnificent Gothic cathedral dedicated to the patron saint of miners. We will tell you more about Saint Barbara and point out unique details of the cathedral’s rich decoration and architecture.
Walking along Radnická Street, we will arrive at the Italian Court, the former Royal Mint of Kutná Hora. Between the 12th and 15th centuries, nearly one third of all European silver was mined here, making the town one of the most important economic centers of medieval Bohemia. You will learn fascinating facts about medieval coin minting, see the former residences of the minters, and discover the famous "Prague groschen".
As we continue through the historic center of Kutná Hora, you will also see plague columns, the Church of St. James, the Gothic House, and many charming chapels and churches.
