    Day 1

    Rally Point to Base Camp One

    The first day we will meet at 9am in the Lobby of the Clarion Hotel in Lulea for introductions and the Safety Brief. We will depart for our first basecamp between 10am and 10:30am. Arrival at our first camp site settles us near the stunning Pita River just above the rapids. Here you will learn the various types of tent, hammock, and bivvy shelters and their pro's and cons before selecting one to take for "test drive". Instruction will be given on how to set up each before you choose your campsite. Just like the meals, all sleeping systems and shelters are included for the duration of your stay. There is the option to try different types of shelters each night, or stay with the one you like. The emphasis is on an a comfortable and rewarding experience.

    Nature Fluency: Awareness, Tracking, and Movement

    Morning Breakfast in Camp and then into the forest for an experience in slowing our pace, expanding our senses, and reading the landscape. From there, tracking skills into moving with fluidity before heading to one of the most stunning geological and natural jungle gyms in Sweden, Storfosen.

    Crossing The Arctic Circle

    We continue our journey, stopping for a traditional ceremony to mark the crossing of the arctic circle, before heading to a hub of Sami traditional and modern living. Here we will visit Atje and learn from Sami guides the lineage and details of ancestral Sami living up to present times. Afterwards we will head to areas on the landscape influencing modern Sami life before heading to our next camp site.

    Wilderness Immersion

    On Day 4 we head from our new camp to one of the largest untouched wilderness areas in the north. MuddusNational Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is home to old growth forests, hiking trails and the oldest pine known in Sweden, aged at over 700 years old.

    A Day in the Life of a Sami Reindeer Herder

    Day 5 we wake up to check our nets, prepare our meal and head out for another adventure. This time with Sami Reindeer herders as they give us a walking tour through the corals discussing the life ways that have evolved through generations of families that still move with the reindeer.

    Refined Skills and Meditative Practice

    Day 6 At our last encampment we finish the essential fieldcraft skills and move through the forest with a new rhythm. Space is created for a solo opportunity to take advantage of the clarity and connection cultivated intentionally through the days leading to this moment. Our closing campfire is often filled with silent introspection as well as profound expression of new commitment, realizations, and applications to bring back home

    Day 7 Lulea debrief, shops and drop offs.

    As we debrief the experience we will have our last taste of Sweden as a crew before hitting the shops and dropping folks off to their next destination.
