Combine a geological excursion with hiking and fun!
Begin with a pickup from your hotel and head to northern Bohemia, a region with the highest concentration of volcanic hills in Europe.
Explore the rare phonolite rock moraines on Klíč Hill and, if you wish, hike to its summit.
Next, explore the fascinating 60-million-year-old basalt formation called Panská Rock, known as the Organ. It has been the setting for many world films, for example, Young Man and the White Whale (1979), Merlin (2011), and many Czech fairy tales.
Then, go for lunch at a local brewery, where you can try homemade beers and traditional Czech cuisine.
After lunch, visit the medieval rock castle Sloup, carved into 100-million-year-old deposits of prehistoric seas. The fairy tale The Little Mermaid and many others were filmed here. We will also see a rock theater carved into a rock overhang.
Finally, see a chapel carved into red sendstone.
The trip includes moderately difficult hiking and easy trekking.
