Kunming is one of China's most underrated cities. It doesn't announce itself to the world the way Beijing and Shanghai do. Spend a few hours with us and discover the Kunming that you would have walked straight past on your own. No, Kunming is not just an airport!
Our walk includes:
• First part is the beautiful Cuihu and all its little stories, before we switch gear to the second part of wartime history and exile around the old university quarter.
• Kunming's long and complex history with foreigners. Why we consider Kunming the Most Foreign City in China.
• Did Kunming use to have a city wall that stood for 600 years? Where is it now?
• Initially not part of the official route, but have gained such popularity include the small snack stall with their pumpkin pancake mid-way, plus the local authentic crossing-the-bridge noodles nearby before we say goodbye.
• Plus hospitality and human connections that make Kunming not 'just another city in China'
