Scattered reefs rise from the river, with water flowing through and around the rocks. On both banks, clustered karst peaks rise in staggered layers, while ancient villages nestle among dense bamboo groves along the shoreline. After rain, this section often transforms into a misty Li River landscape – a scene of ethereal beauty.
This is the most beautiful bend of the Li River! Layered karst peaks embrace the waterway, creating a picturesque composition. Along the shore, a centuries‑old fishing village nestles against the mountains and river – a spot that has been visited by many heads of state and remains a top attraction for travelers.
A massive cliff face rises abruptly from the river, its natural black‑and‑white rock patterns resembling a herd of galloping horses. According to local legend, if you can count nine horses among the markings, you will be blessed with good fortune! The boat's public address system will announce the best viewing position as you approach – making this a top photo‑stop for international visitors.
As you approach Yangshuo, a series of small karst peaks in varied shapes appear one after another. The river gradually widens, and the cruise ends at Longtoushan Pier in Yangshuo, from where you can easily walk to the bustling West Street.
