Discover Shanghai’s best craft beer with Tian Zhou, founder of Beer Matters, beer author, homebrewer, and international beer competition judge.
This is not a quick bar crawl. Shanghai’s best beer is not all on one convenient street, so we use walking plus private car / MPV transfers to visit carefully selected taprooms, brewpubs, hidden local favorites, and a serious imported beer bar with 50+ fresh taps.
You will taste at least 10 beers, from fresh pilsners and IPAs to Chinese tea beers, wild sours, local experiments, and world-class imported beers. Along the way, I’ll explain beer styles, brewing, Chinese beer culture, and the stories behind the people making these beers.
Whether you are a beer geek or just curious, this experience will help you drink better, taste smarter, and see a different side of Shanghai.

We may visit: The taproom of Shanghai’s best craft brewery A brewpub where we can talk about how beer is made A Chinese-style bistro with regional Chinese food, snacks, and fresh beer A hidden independent taproom loved by the local craft beer community A modern self-pour taproom where you can pour your own beer from different taps A serious imported craft beer bar with more than 50 fresh taps from around the world We will start from the taproom of Shanghai’s best craft brewery, known for excellent IPAs, hazy IPAs, and various lagers.
