Spend one serene morning in old Shanghai experiencing three living Chinese arts in a single private tour.
In a quiet neighborhood park, a certified Tai Chi master leads a gentle session of warm-up, basic forms and the idea of balance while your guide translates-every age and fitness level can join.
Next, at the 240-year-old Huxinting Teahouse on the lake, a tea master brews a flight of fine Chinese teas and explains the etiquette behind each cup.
You then wander Yu Garden's classical pavilions and rockeries with a licensed guide who brings its philosophy to life. More than sightseeing, this is a calm, hands-on taste of local morning life-ideal for curious cultural travelers, couples and families who want to experience Shanghai, not rush through it.
Complimentary pickup is offered from central Shanghai hotels. For locations outside central Shanghai (such as airports, Disneyland or suburban districts), please meet your guide at the designated meeting point, or contact us before booking.

Take Metro Line 10 or 14 to Yuyuan Station. Come out of Exit 7 and step onto the open plaza right outside the exit. Your guide will be waiting there, wearing a white cap with the Jantour logo. No need to cross the road.
Chapter 1 -Balance: Tai Chi in the Old City Park We begin in a quiet corner of the old city park, where locals have practiced morning exercises for generations. Your Tai Chi master introduces the philosophy behind the movements -balance, energy, harmony - then guides you through a warm-up and basic forms, with your guide translating throughout. No experience needed the master adapts to every level. By the end, you’ll understand why millions of Chinese start their day this way.
Chapter 2 - Stillness: Heritage Tea Tasting at Huxinting A short walk brings us to Huxinting Teahouse, a Shanghai institution since 1784. Seated at a table on the second floor, your dedicated tea master brews and explains a flight of fine Chinese teas - which may include green, oolong, and aged pu’er - cup by cup, each with its own character and story. This isn’t a performance you watch; it’s a tasting you experience, with the tea master serving and explaining every round. Premium tea and traditional snacks included.
Chapter 3 - Meaning: The Scholar’s Garden We enter Yu Garden with a different frame of mind. We won’t see every corner - instead, your guide focuses on the garden’s three great ideas: the Confucian family hall, the Daoist rock, and the scholar’s symbols. After experiencing balance and stillness firsthand, the garden’s philosophy comes alive: the “thin, wrinkled, leaky, transparent” jade stone, the plum tree as moral symbol, the borrowed scenery that turns a wall into a painting. Your guide connects it all - Confucian family values, Daoist harmony with nature, and the scholar’s inner world.
