Pickup details:

Cruise Passengers will be picked up at St Johns Cruise Port. If your ship does not call into port, your tour is fully refunded. Tours generally begin at 9am however will be adjusted to your cruise ships schedule. An earlier or later departure please request on booking so we can work our schedule to your time in port.

Please note each vehicle will have a maximum of 3 guests, 4 if requested. All vehiles used during tour will be an SUV. If you have a larger group, you will travel in seperate SUVs with you guide however the areas we stop we may walk and talk together as a group, your group.

Travelers can be picked up at the cruise terminal, a hotel or AirBnB within the St Johns area. Please indicate your preference when booking

    We drive pass several jellybean row houses throughout the day, amazing colors. Hear the story of why houses are so vibrant.

    Fort Amherst Lighthouse

    Drive through the Southside of St Johns,, view the Outer Battery, visit the site of Newfoundlands first lighthouse at Fort Amherst. Heart about the military history and how this area helped protect our harbour during the wars. Learn about chain rock, the steel underwater net protecting St Johns Harbour during WW2. View the vaults used to store wartime amunition as well as Newman Wines vaults of 300 years ago. Site of filming series Hudson and Rex

    Blackhead

    Lookout stop giving a panoramic view of the older part of St Johns, Water Street, and St Johns Harbour.

    Cape Spear Lighthouse National Historic Site

    The most easterly point in North America. Stand with your back to the water and the entire continent is in front of you. Visit the gift shop, visitors, center. Go inside the lighthouse which has been restored to the way it was when it was lived in by the keepers. Walk through the war tunnels and view the disappearing guns. Visit the scenic viewpoints overlooking the Atlantic ocean where soldiers once scanned for enemy ships Summer months you will most likely see whales, icebergs, birds offshore.

    Petty Harbour

    One of the oldest fishing communities in North America. Walk the jetty, interact with local fishermen & watch them clean their fish, listen to their stories of how they catch up to 2000 lbs per day, one at a time, no nets. Pass by the old church and the hydro electric generating station in the community since 1901. View the beauty of the colorful community where murals are found on homes, sheds, fences & elsewhere. This is also where we stop for a lunch break.

    The Newfoundland National War Memorial represents the war effort of Newfoundlanders who were not part of Canada Confederation during either of the World Wars. Tomb of the unknown soldier.

    Four Sisters - View 4 adjoining brick homes connected by an inside tunnel built from scraps in the 1800s for 4 daughters of Mr Garrett who was commissioned to construct Cabot Tower.

    Quidi Vidi

    Step back in time, the narrow roads through Quidi Vidi villiage with its colorful houses which line the edge of the roads. A fishing village dating back to the 1500s. Walk to the edge of the cliffs and view the narrow inlets where fishermen come and go. Visit the Artisan Studios local arts and crafts. View the processing system of Quidi Vidi Brewery - makers of beer from the water of 20 thousand year old ice bergs. Walk to "the gut"

    Fort Pepperell - American Military Base constructed under the Destroyers for Bases agreement - allowing USA to build bases in return for destroyers. Hear how American Soldiers stayed on site after the end of WW2, and built St Pats Ball Park, at no cost to Newfoundlanders, the largest ball park in the City.

    Cabot Tower

    Cabot Tower began constrction in 1897 as a monument to John Cabots 1497 voyage to North America, and the 60th anniversary of Queen Victorias reign. Hear why it was a very controversial. Used for signaling functions until 1958, located on Signal Hill - where Marconi received the first ever wireless transmission. Enter the tower and climb to the top for breathtaking views.
